Lorsque l'on fait allusion à ce pays, on pense immédiatement au mieux au "mal développement" et au pire au groupe terroriste Boko Haram. Pourtant ce pays est désormais la première puissance du continent africain devant l'Afrique du Sud et va devenir un géant démographique dans les années à venir. Lorsque l'on interroge les Nigérians sur leur avenir, ils sont le peuple le deuxième plus optimiste du monde !!! C'est pour cette raison que les professeurs d'histoire-géographie du lycée général et technologique ont décidé de mettre ce pays au centre de leur enseignement en seconde en réalisant l'étude de cas de la mégapole de Lagos et en terminale lors de la séquence sur le continent africain face au développement et à la mondialisation.
